We are a group of artists and interested
citizens of the East Central Mississippi and West Central Alabama area who are dedicated to creating a greater community awareness
of the arts and art and cultural related events in this area. We are a nonprofit, volunteer-run organization.
The Meridian Artists' Coop was also
founded to promote local artists and to provide much needed exhibit space for part- and full-time local artists. We
strive to meet this need and bring a wide range of art media by regional artisans into the public eye.
We offer exhibits, openings, lectures, workshops, and demonstrations. Some of the activities in which the Co-Op is involved
are:
1. Outreach initiatives for regional
schools to include student art exhibitions, workshops and classes, and scholarships
2. Public interactive workshops, lectures and classes
Membership in the Co-Op is open to all visual artists who: meet the standards set by the Meridian
Artists' Co-Op; are residents of the East Central Mississippi/West Central Alabama regional area (unless applying
for an Auxiliary membership); subscribe to the objectives and purposes of the Co-Op; pay any applicable dues; meet membership
commitment requirements; and agree to abide by the policies, guidelines and bylaws of the Co-Op.
We promote the work of local artists
and challenge our members to be at their most creative. We stress the importance of creative, original artwork and
hold our members and new applicants to these standards. We encourage our member artists to explore new avenues of expression
and to create innovative and exciting works of art.
The members of the Meridian Artists' Co-Op represent a wide
range of media and styles from oil, pastel, acrylic and watercolor painters to potters and sculptors, jewelers, weavers,
photographers, woodworkers, stained and fused glass and more. The variety of styles and media represented can't truly
be described in words.
For an overview of our different styles of artwork, please browse a slideshow of examples
of each artists' work on their individual "Meet Our Artists" page and check out each artist's E-Gallery
page to see what they have for sale, or, better yet, come in to the Gallery and take a look at their work in person.
We make a real effort to keep our
prices reasonable because we feel that art should be available to everyone.
We rotate
our member artwork monthly and are constantly adding new artists to our membership. With a constantly changing membership,
the work is always interesting and fresh.

We take an enormous pride
in our highly creative artists and hope that you'll find something in our gallery that you like. Not all of
our artists' work is in the E-Gallery, so call or email and let us know what you are looking for - we might just have
it at our storefront Gallery! And if you are looking for something specific, our artists do take commissions for individual
works of art.
You can email for information at info@meridianartistscoop.org
We look forward to seeing you in our Gallery!!
