Our vision is to enlighten our community to the widest possible range of creative activities and events, performed to the highest standards, to the largest audiences possible.

Our goal is very simple: to showcase artists in the regional area, and in the process, highlighting Meridian as a positive growing creative cultural community.

To do that we are encouraging our patrons, our artists, our community to help us develop a definite direction. We hope to learn what the community wants from the arts, what role we really do fill, how we can educate each other and help create a economically viable arts community - resulting in Art Meridian - a creative cultural community.

1) First, we have designed our webpage

Please take a few moments to go through our website and help us discover our own creative culture. Currently we have included those creative cultural events/ businesses/activities etc. that we could find on the web. We are open to others. If you know of any Arts or Cultural event happening in or around Meridian, please let us know so we can put it on our website to help let people know.

How can you help? Sponsor a "picture" on one of our “Visit Meridian” pages.  We will randomly place pictures on our web pages (related to the websites listed, of course).

Email us at
webmaster@meridianartistscoop.org if you would like more information on how you can donate towards this website or to sponsor your own picture on the site.

Link this website (
http://www.meridianartistscoop.org ) on your web site.

Send us more possible local web sites to include. Email us at
webmaster@meridianartistscoop.org

2)
Second, we are developing a questionnaire to help us determine what is needed or wanted in our community -check back soon for more information.

(3) Third we want to have numerous and varied programs that will fulfill the needs of the community by:

1.  A larger physical space to have the following:
     a.  A Gallery to display and promote our local artists
      b.  A Work Area for workshop, classes, demonstrations
      c.  A Meeting Area for meetings, lectures and seminars
      d.  A Library area where artists can come and relax and browse our Art reference books
      e.  An exhibition area for periodic shows of artwork by regional students, member and visiting artists.
      f.  An actual working area where the community/public can come and watch our artists  creating their art.
2.  Interaction with local art teachers/students  to develop a scholarship Program to aide art students in furthering their art education, to include but not limited to:
    > an "Artmobile" to carry a mini-art exhibition and art "learning" center to regional schools.
   > co-ordinating with local school and college art clubs to aide students in their academic and community work aspects of their courses.
    > coordination with local art educators to have student art exhibitions and juried shows.
2.  Interaction with local businesses to develop a "DISPLAY OUR LOCAL ARTISTS' ARTWORK" Program
